Property Tax (updated 06/2014):
At the June 2014 Town Council meeting, a $.15 per $100.00 valuation property tax was approved for property
owners in Whitsett. The tax is listed on and collected via the Guilford County tax billing system.
Garbage Collection (updated 12/01/2014):
The Town Council has voted to execute a 5 year contract with Republic Services for automated pickup of regular
household trash. For this service, Republic will provide each household within town limits a 96-gallon roll-out
cart. Automated collection using the new cart will continue to be every Monday.
The quantity of regular household garbage (or solid waste) shall not exceed 96 gallons per household per week.
Republic Services is not responsible for gathering trash from bags that been tampered with by animals or

Please place the roll-out cart at the roadside curb by 6:00 a.m. on Monday morning. If you exceed the 96 gallon
limit, it is considered bulk trash; and residents may contact Republic Services directly at 336-299-0815 to
arrange for a special pickup at a nominal charge.
Curbside Recycling for Town of Whitsett Residents(Updated 12/01/2014)
The Town Council has voted to execute a 5 year contract with Republic Services for single-stream curbside
recycling pickup. For this service, Republic will provide each household within town limits a 96-gallon roll-out
green lid cart for recycling. Automated curbside recycling collection using the new green-topped cart will be
every other Monday starting December 1, 2014.

NC E-Waste Ban Effective 07/01/2011
Legislators in Raleigh made the recovery and recycling of electronics a priority in North Carolina. Beginning July
1, 2011, computer equipment and televisions are banned from disposal in landfills. Drop-off sites are available
for Guilford County residents.

Water System Info 01/25/2015:
The town of Whitsett issued its first ever monthly water bills for the 35 homes in phase I on Wednesday,
October 3, 2012. Before August 2012, most of the town used well-water. After a contamination scare due to a
leaking underground gasoline tank, the town decided it needed to investigate getting the public a community
It took seven years, a 24-inch pipeline, and a $750,000 community block grant, but 35 homes in Whitsett now
have public water.
Whitsett plans to hook up the rest of the town as soon as it can get the money to expand the public water

Animal Control Protection Services - The Town provides this service for all Town Residents through the Guilford
County Department of Animall Control. If you have a problem with stray or injured animals, please call GC
Animal Control at (336) 641-5990 or the GC Sheriff's Department.
Cafeteria located in the Town Hall Building is available for small miscellaneous meetings, Family gatherings,
Church socials, etc. Please contact the Town Hall Office for more information regarding this facility and rental
