PUBLIC HEARING

 

A public hearing was held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the Whitsett Town Hall.  The following members of the Town Council were present:  Mayor Richard Fennell, Councilmembers Jerry Rice, Ken Jacobs, and Cindy Wheeler.  Also present

were Town Administrator Gary Deal, Planning Board Chairman Bob Maccia, and 11 residents from Whitsett or surrounding areas.  Absent was Mayor Pro Tem Andy Brown.

 

Mayor Fennell called the public hearing to order at 7:00 p.m., and noted that a quorum was present.  Councilmember Rice offered the invocation.

 

Mayor Fennell explained that the purpose of the public hearing was to invite public comment and discussion on the four subjects as listed on the public hearing agenda.  (Copy attached as part of these minutes and for the official record.)

 

1.      Proposed 2007-2008 Whitsett Town Budget

 

Mayor Fennell asked for any public comment from those present regarding the 2007-2008 proposed budget for Whitsett; and no one came forward.

 

2.      Proposed Development Ordinance on Signs

 

Mayor Fennell invited public comment on the proposed sign ordinance amendments and added definition; no public comment.

 

3.      Proposed Development Ordinance on Outdoor Lighting

 

Mayor Fennell invited public comment on the new outdoor lighting ordinance and definitions; no public comment.

 

4.      Proposed Guilford County Ordinance on Environmental Regulations for

Stormwater Management/Watershed Protection Districts

 

Mayor Fennell asked for any public comment concerning the Town’s adoption of Guilford County’s said ordinance and Whitsett entering into an agreement with the County to administer enforcement of the regulations for the Town.  No comment was heard.

 

 

 

With no discussion on any of the items presented for public comment, Mayor Fennell invited a motion to adjourn the public hearing.  A motion to adjourn was made by Councilmember Jerry Rice; seconded by Councilmember Ken Jacobs; and the June 12 public hearing was adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
