The Whitsett Planning Board members are appointed by the Town Council for a three (3) year term; and consists of five (5) members, four (4) alternates, and one (1) Town Council liaison. All Planning Board members and alternates must reside and own property within the Whitsett Town limits. Among the Planning Board's responsibilities are hearing and making recommendations to Town Council concerning matters in accordance with: zoning map amendments, zoning text amendments, zoning vested right, and subdivision development. Also to develop a comprehensive plan for the territory under the Town's jurisdiction, subject to specific direction from the Town Council. |
